Background Remover

Remove the background from a photo, logo, or graphic and download a transparent PNG. Photo (AI) mode finds the person, pet, or product for you. Plain background mode strips one solid color from logos, text, and line art, right in your browser.

How it works

  1. Pick a mode. Photo (AI) for pictures of people, pets, and products. Plain background (fast) for logos, text, and line art on one solid color.
  2. Upload your image. Photo mode takes about 5 to 15 seconds. The checkerboard shows what is now transparent. Zoom in and drag to check the edges. Not happy with the result? Click Try Plain background mode instead (or the other way round).
  3. Adjust if needed. In Plain background mode, click a spot on the image to choose a different background color, and move How much to remove up if some background is left, or down if part of your design disappears.
  4. Download. You get a PNG with a transparent background, trimmed to your artwork.

Good to know

Photo (AI) mode works best when there is one clear subject. Very busy scenes, glass, thin wires, and see-through fabric may need cleanup. It is limited to 40 photos per person per day. Plain background mode removes one background color and its near-shades, so gradients and shadows will not separate cleanly there. To turn artwork into a vector file, use our Vectorize Your Artwork tool. Check the edges before you send the file for production; artwork you submit is printed as provided.
