Marker Recommendations for Acrylic Boards
There are 3 types of erasable markers you will find. Here are the pros and cons to each: • Wet Erase Markers • Pros: Dark writing, colors pop, writes very clean, easier to find in fine tip options. Cons: Require being wet down to be erased, can only be used on light colored or clear acrylic. • Dry Erase Markers • Pros: Easily erased with a dry cloth, easy to find. How To Clean Acrylic
When it comes to cleaning your acrylic, simpler is better. Using a soft cloth, dampen with plain water just enough to wet the board. Then use a separate dry cloth to wipe completely clean. Once the board feels dry, wipe in circular motions for another 5 seconds or so just to be sure.{Be sure your board is completely dry before trying to write on it again} If after cleaning you find your marker doesn't seem to be writing normal, this can happen for two reasons: 1. Removing The Protective Film From Acrylic
The protective film is a thin sticker-like material there to prevent scratches, fingerprints, and dust from collecting on your sign. The film on our acrylic is generally clear, however occasionally it can appear blue, white/cloudy or brown. We recommend removing it just before you are ready to use your acrylic item.
