Fraudulent chargebacks (Cyber Shoplifting) is a punishable crime.

Therefore, the following policy has been established regarding fraudulent chargebacks:
- Definition of Fraudulent Chargebacks:
- A fraudulent chargeback refers to any dispute filed by a customer with their financial institution claiming unauthorized or fraudulent activity on their account, when in fact the transaction was legitimate and authorized by the customer.
- Investigation Process:
- Upon receipt of a chargeback notification, our team will conduct a thorough investigation to determine the validity of the claim. This may include reviewing transaction records, communication history, and any relevant documentation provided by the customer.
- Documentation Requirement:
- Customers filing chargebacks are required to provide accurate and truthful information regarding the disputed transaction. Any attempt to misrepresent facts or file a chargeback under false pretenses will be considered fraudulent.
- Consequences of Fraudulent Chargebacks:
- If a chargeback is determined to be fraudulent or filed for untruthful reasons, 1801&Co. reserves the right to take appropriate action to protect its interests. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Filing a police report for fraudulent chargeback activity.
- Referring the matter to a collections agency to recover the disputed funds.
- Pursuing legal action to seek restitution for damages incurred.
- If a chargeback is determined to be fraudulent or filed for untruthful reasons, 1801&Co. reserves the right to take appropriate action to protect its interests. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Notification Process:
- Customers will be notified in writing of our intent to pursue further action in response to a fraudulent chargeback. This notification will outline the steps we intend to take and provide an opportunity for the customer to rectify the situation if the chargeback was filed in error.
- Compliance with Applicable Laws:
- 1801&Co. will adhere to all relevant laws and regulations governing chargebacks and dispute resolution processes. Our actions will be conducted in accordance with legal guidelines to ensure fairness and transparency.
